Disaster Management and Emergency Response Short Training Course in Ramallah

As part of its mission to spread awareness on Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), and as part of the objective’s of the SASPARM and  SASPARM2 Projects, An-Najah’s Urban Planning and Disaster Risk Reduction Center held a training workshop for the Palestinian Relief Society’s staff and volunteers  on disaster Management and emergency Response in Ramallah.

The training sessions were given by Professor Jalal Dabbeek, Director of the Center and Vice President for the National Authority for Disaster Risk Reduction, and aimed at developing relief and emergency staff’s skills in Disaster Management and emergency Response.

The training workshop covered a number of aspects such as the concept of DRR, society’s attitudes and responses towards disasters, risk assessment and risk management, the key actors in disaster management, the risk maps and emergency response operations, and disaster management influencers.

The Center also held training workshops in the cities of Bethlehem, Hebron, and Salfeet.
