Professor Jalal Dabbeek, Director of Urban Planning and Disaster Risk Reduction Center at An-Najah and the Vice President of Palestinian National Agency for Disaster Risk Mitigation has recently participated in the experts meeting on global risk framework, which was held in Geneva.
The meeting aimed at discussing a new Global Risk Assessment Framework which can support UN Member States seeking to reduce disaster losses through the implementation of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
The meeting also aimed to identify what challenges must be overcome to create a global risk assessment framework that is inclusive of all hazards included in the scope of the Sendai Framework, the global plan to reduce disaster losses adopted in March 2015.

- The meeting was attended by 100 international experts in risk disciplines such as earthquakes, floods, tsunamis, cyclones, climate, landslides, biological, chemical and nuclear hazards, infectious diseases, forest fires and other natural and unnatural hazards.
